Belated Birthday Dinner

Last night Brett and I cruised on over to the Anaheim White House Restaurant for dinner. Brett had made reservations to make up for being out of town on my birthday, which he didn't have to do, but I was happy he did. We are definitely foodies, and enjoy trying new places. The White House is supposed to be a wonderful fine dining establishment here in Orange County, but Brett and I both agreed we have been more impressed with fine dining experiences in Reno than we have been anywhere here. It was fun, just not as great as we thought it would be.
I had the veal scallopini with imported prosciutto. Why the giant cracker, we'll never know. I used it as an arm band.

Brett had their braised short ribs with horseradish sauce, it was mighty tasty. This cracker looks to be in the shape of a bird. Or wingless pterodactyl. Not sure.

The carpaccio appetizer was adequate. When did I become a food snob? We had a grand marnier souffle for dessert and it tasted like scrambled eggs. That was sad.

It was a pretty place to go, but I don't think we will go back.
