It seems like every year I get all cranky about the fact that it's almost October and the weather is still pretty warm. Then I remember it's always like this. Even when I think back to school clothes shopping a long time ago in elementary school, everything in the stores was geared towards cold weather. So that's what I would buy. Then I would wear it to school on the first day, determined to look cute in a new fall outfit, and sweat my butt off. The next day I was back to shorts until well into October. That was northern California. Here in the southern part of the state its even worse, I can wear flip flops almost year round. I do miss the changing seasons of Nevada, but then I remember driving (sliding) around in snow, freezing to death in my car every morning, and I think, eh, maybe I don't miss it THAT much.
Summer was so busy, I thought Fall would have us slowing down. Nope. The calendar is full, and I can't keep track of all our commitments. A few trips are in the works, lots of ministry, and then there's the holidays. Yikes. We are creeping up on Christmas again. Ugh.

| Trip to Reno a few weeks ago, view from our room. |
| First day of school, Matt's in 5th, Tyler's in 8th, James is a senior. He's wearing his pajamas since he does online school. I tore him out of bed for the annual picture. |
| Gratuitous kitty picture. Petunia sleeps in all my planters. |
| Fall classes started back up at church, I'm teaching four year olds this year during the week. |
| Competitive date nights at Dave & Busters. Brett obviously won this game. That's his gloating face. |
| When in Reno we hooked up with old friends, this is Elizabeth, whom I love with my whole heart. I've known her since I was 20 I think. We worked in a restaurant together for years, and got in much trouble. |

| Yay! The deer are back in the neighborhood. Which usually means fall weather is on its way. |
| We had one night in Vegas a few weeks ago, on our way from Reno to Phoenix. I don't care much for this town anymore. It's dirty. We did have fun playing a few slots though. |
| A view from the plane, the California coast. Probably near Santa Barbara. So pretty. |
